Built by the field, for the field
We believe that by strengthening grantmaker learning, we can help to increase the effectiveness and impact of philanthropy. And we believe it should be easy for grantmakers of all kinds - staff, donors, trustees, volunteers - to find what they need.
At LearnPhilanthropy, we’re bringing the growing community of learners and learning providers together, in a central hub, to share resources and insights on good practice. And we’re creating a first-of-its-kind philanthropy data model to support content sharing and analytics across multiple organizations. We think there are some important network effects that can flow from this -- making it easier to find high-quality resources, identify the gaps in what’s available, and encourage new resources and learning opportunities where they are most needed.
Our approach is iterative and highly collaborative, with broad outreach and review at each stage. We’ve been incubated by the Council on Foundations and Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers since 2010 – and several hundred grantmakers, learning providers and others who care about improving learning in philanthropy have joined us to co-create LearnPhilanthropy.
